Design for web and print

Graphic designer with multi-disciplinary skills, operating from own work space or available for on-site work. Usually I work within the London area, although I can take on projects and travel outside the city.

Experience and background; over the years I have developed my career working with a diverse range of design agencies and personal clients, from being involved in creative projects and production tasks. I studied at a good London art school before art schools were rebranded as universities.

The main applications I work with are; InDesign, Quark Xpress, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint and Acrobat. For website development I always use Dreamweaver and Flash.

Affordable rates, usually charged by the hour or day with no agent fees. By contracting an independent designer and mac artworker for your print or website requirements your business can keep expenses to a minimum. I am constantly looking for new contacts and clients to keep myself busy.

Over the years I have worked at many high profile companies, here is a short list; Addison (annual reports), Weber Shandwick (annual reports and corporate literature), The Independent newspaper (in their marketing department and newsroom), McMillan-Scott (contract publishing), Isobel (advertising).

Language skills: I am equally fluent in English and Portuguese, I also have some experience with Spanish and Italian.

March 2010

I am currently designing and developing a website for a French restaurant in Brasilia.

marcodesign.eu was uploaded in February 2009. The function of my website is to act as an online portfolio showing a small selection of commissioned design projects, some of which were produced in conjunction with other design professionals. These are to be viewed purely as examples of my skills.

An on-going illustration project that I work on in my spare time; Regent Street. Similar to the one you see on this home page. It's another busy city street scene based on a photograph showing strong lines of perspective.

illustration of Avenida Primeiro de Março, a busy street scene in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This image is being gradually built up, as a work in progress with more line work and areas of colour being added.
